The Parliamentary Gazetteer’s Respective Summaries of the Wapentakes of Bourne Union, 1843.


Aveland, the name of a wapentake, in the parts of Kesteven, Lincolnshire ; bounded on the north by Aswardhurn ; on the east by the South forty-foot dyke, separating it from the parts of Holland ; on the south by Ness ; on the west by Bettisloe [sic] and Winnibriggs. Pop., in 1831, 9,978. Houses 1,885. Area in British statute acres, 53,220.

Beltisloe, a wapentake, in the parts of Kesteven, county of Lincoln. Area 54,370 acres. Houses 1,176. Pop., in 1831, 6,430.

Ness wapentake, in the parts of Kesteven, Lincolnshire ; is bounded on the north by the wapentakes of Aveland and Beltisloe ; on the east by Holland Elloe ; on the south by Northamptonshire and on the west by Rutlandshire. Area 29,790 acres. Houses 1,359. Pop., in 1831, 6,870.
